your preferences + presence are gifts

As we move toward a new year, I’d love to reflect back (judgment-free) with you for a few moments.

As you look back on 2020 + beyond…

Did you feel free, comfortable, & empowered to share how you felt? What you liked? What you didn’t?

Did you experience permission to say ‘no’ when something extended you too far or when you weren’t interested?

Did you feel excited to say ‘yes’ to your heart’s desire?

To speak up when something was tugging at your heart?

To create a boundary when something important needed protected?

To be honest even if it might make a wave?

Did you eat cookies (or whatever else you were hungry for) without guilt?

Did you practice resting without shame?

Did you share your idea about that work project on your Zoom team meeting?

Did you play even when your to do list wasn’t finished?

Racing Hot Wheels with your little one even though the dishwasher still needed emptied and the laundry wasn’t going to fold itself?

Did you see that photo of yourself and feel grateful for the memory it represented rather than critical of your arms, stomach, or thighs?

Did you offer yourself kindness + understanding when you messed something up?

Did you feel worthy to be here, writing your own story, present in your own life?

Did you celebrate your resilience + strength during a year that was full of hardship?

How did you surprise yourself? How did you show up for yourself?

Notice, judgement-free.

Something I’ve encouraged my coaching clients around over and over again in 2020 has been this:

Your preferences and your presence are GIFTS.

This simple truth that’s not always so easy to practice.

It’s takes self-trust, self-compassion, and self-connection to get to know your preferences when you’ve lived from a place of ‘should,’ people-pleasing, shame, perfectionism, and rules.

It takes even more of that trust, compassion, and connection to honor those preferences and share them honestly with the world.

It takes self-trust, self-compassion, and self-connection to get to know who you are when you’ve lived from a place of ‘should,’ people-pleasing, shame, perfectionism, and rules.

And, it takes even more to honor who you are and show up as your true self in the world.

As you take what you just noticed reflecting back, lets use it to reimagine a way forward:

What do you imagine would be possible for you if you trusted yourself more?

What about if you offered yourself more self-compassion?

How about if you connected deeply with who you truly are?

I’d love to encourage you to really take your time with each of these questions: Exploring different parts of your life and journey with each one (food, body image, movement, career, values, lifestyle, finances, parenthood, friendship, romantic partnerships, and / or more).

What came up for you?

In just a few days, I’ll be opening up the doors to HELD: the coaching community + membership to nourish the nurturer. Where we will deepen self-trust, compassion, and connection + release perfectionism, together.

For many years, I’ve had the joy of coaching hundreds of clients to heal their relationships with food, movement, + their bodies, let go of perfectionism, and learn how to truly embrace their beautifully imperfect & real lives.

I’m so grateful for this opportunity to share these tools, skills, and practices with you in HELD.

The doors to HELD open Friday (January 1, 2021) & you can find all the details + grab your spot on the waitlist here.

You are worthy of self-trust, self-compassion, and self-connection. And, your preferences + presence are gifts.

I can’t wait to coach, encourage, and support this beautiful community in 2021.

xo, Sim
