letters encouraging you to release perfectionism, embrace your humanness, and live more intuitively

Love, Simi

What intuitive eating and toddler sleep have in common [it’s way more than you’d think!]

I know the days following a holiday weekend can be extra challenging around food / body image. If you’re feeling the pressure to diet or the negative self talk and food rules are feeling extra loud today, I want to share something with you. When I had Osh almost four years ago, my doula shared…

A question for the people-pleasers out there

If you’re reading this post, then I’m guessing you have identified as a people-pleaser at one point or another in your life. HEY! Me too. It could have been my middle name for a few decades there. And, I’d be lying to you if I said I never have the urge to agree with someone…

A Brief History of Diet Culture

It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve sat down to really write to you.  On Friday, I logged off of social media and won’t be getting back on for at least two weeks. I promise to share more reflections about the time away when I can look back but one of the main reasons for taking…

reconnecting + reflecting

Yesterday on stories and here today, reconnecting + reflecting with you all after a week of muting my voice in solidarity with & participation in the #amplifymelanatedvoices campaign. I’m grateful for the new voices I was introduced to over the last week through this campaign: incredible black women who are doing life changing work in the HAES/IE space who I had not previously been…

The racist roots of diet culture [+ a great resource if you want to learn more]

I’m so grateful that you’re here with me in this little space on the internet. In light of the devastating turmoil in our world cause by racism and racist systems of oppression, I wanted to connect with you here. Our country and the people in our country are reeling from the pain, trauma, inequality, and…

Afraid of the unknown? Try this simple question.

Where in your life do you feel the fear of the unknown holding you back? but what if my body changes? but what if my clothes don’t fit? but what if someone judges me? but what if I get rejected? but what if it’s not successful? but what if… [fill in the blank]? Today, I…

The Coolest Thing About Movement

I think one of the coolest things about movement is that it reminds us that we are human. You could walk that same loop around the park, do the same set of push ups, take the same belly dancing class, or reach for your same toes day after day and the only thing that would…

Your relationship with rest can tell you a lot about your relationship with movement

Working to have a more joy-filled, intuitive, healthy relationship with movement? Then, I’d encourage you to look at what you think about rest. The little toot toot beep beep ♥️ The little toot toot beep beep ♥️
‘When it feels like everything is falling apart, ‘When it feels like everything is falling apart, I’m still whole.’

A compassionate, loving affirmation for those moments when perfectionism is trying to drag you into the depths all or nothing mindset.

You are whole ✨
Out of nowhere, Osh has developed a new nighttime Out of nowhere, Osh has developed a new nighttime routine this past week. Over jammies, he puts on his bathrobe + wears Tevas & socks while eating a snack & reading his favorite dinosaur book.

Last night when it was time for said ritual, the Tevas were nowhere to be found.

Tim checked the room but didn’t find them. Osh said I should go look because I’m a ‘good hunter.’ High praise from the four year old dino lover. I went hunting. Under the bed, in the closet, throwing blankets, tossing toys. There were moments of frustration and defeat (because where the F are the Tevas) but I also wasn’t going to stop until I found them (because he has gone literally nowhere in them so the only thing that made sense is that they were there in the room). Eventually I found them, green lighting the bedtime routine.

Tim asked how I found them & I said, ‘I just knew they were there.’

Hope.

What in this life would you keep looking for if the only thing that made sense is that it is already here? What would you work towards, trust in, grow through, fight for, stand up for, let go of, release, seek?

What is the only thing that makes sense, even when you can’t see it?

Even when you’re looking under beds and tossing blankets and checking behind every door but you haven’t been able to wrap your hands around it yet?

That’s hope.

You give me so much hope: Because even if you can’t see it yet, the only thing that makes sense to me is that you are already enough. All of us are.

When you want to scream ‘where the F are the Tevas?!’ but you know the only thing that makes sense is that they are here somewhere so you keep looking...

What keeps you looking? What gives you hope? What do you know is here even if you can’t see it yet? ✨
When I first started coaching almost a decade ago, When I first started coaching almost a decade ago, I heard that I needed to paint an "after" picture for clients. I needed to show you what life would look like "after" we'd worked together.

Yet one of the biggest lessons I've learned is that no two women are exactly alike. This work is not one size fits all. What it looks like for you will be different from what it looks like for me. That’s the beauty.

Rather than trying to fit yourself into someone else's "should” or “after,” you get to discover the freedom to be who you truly are.

We are our own artists. I can paint a picture of my own experiences, hopes, dreams, challenges, growth, and life. But I cannot paint yours.

✨That is a wisdom and artistry that only you possess✨

Over time I realized that my job isn't to tell you what your life should look like + how you should get there. That's recreating the same problem in a new way.

Instead, it's my joy to ask you questions to connect with your wisdom & to empower you with tools + support as you find your voice to tell your story more beautifully, authentically, honestly, & more magically than anyone else ever could.

Where you are now is not a "before." When you get there it won't be an "after." These are all moments in your beautifully imperfect journey + life.

I'm here to help you develop the tools, skills, and practices to paint your own picture over and over again. A picture that shows who you truly are - not who someone else has told you that you "should" be.

That is what HELD (a coaching community + membership where we'll deepen self-trust, self-compassion, and self-connection + release perfectionism) is all about.

Each month, we'll explore themes that came highly requested from all of you here. Themes like freedom from all or nothing mindset (January), rest (February), body image (March), and so much more.

It's a one-of-a-kind blend of transformational coaching, self-reflection, guided growth, compassionate support, authentic inspiration, loving encouragement, and community connection.

Doors open Friday (1/1)! Find all the details + a spot to add your name & email to the waitlist in my bio ♥️ can’t wait to invite you in!
